**Use the Right Hanger**
Always hang your fur using the hanger it came with, or a comparable one built for the job. Broad-shouldered hangers are specifically designed to bear the fur's weight while helping it hold its natural shape.
**Choose a Cool, Dark, Dry Spot**
Your fur will stay beautiful longest when kept somewhere cool, dark, and free of moisture. Heat, sunlight, and dampness are its biggest enemies, so avoid storing it in a closet that gets direct sun exposure.
**Skip the Plastic Covering**
Plastic traps in moisture and blocks the airflow fur needs to stay healthy, which can leave it dry and brittle over time. Do not use plastic garment bags entirely.
**Keep It Away from Rain**
A light dusting of snow won't hurt your fur, but rain is a different story — it can damage the pelts. If your fur happens to get caught in wet weather, simply let it dry naturally in the open air. Avoid using a hair dryer, heater, or any direct heat source, as this can cause lasting damage.
